To DOM or not to DOM!! I think I'll DOM!!

Three times a year Hamburg puts on it's DOM!!  It is a carnival like no other.  Fierce rides, great German fair foods and of course a nice selection of German beers await you!!  For a quick reference to the dates of the upcoming DOMs here is a time table. These dates are subject to change.

The rides here are reasonably priced and timed to give you a thrill.  At the Summerdom of 2012 the majority of rides ranged from 1.80 - 2 Euros with a few rides ranging from 3 - 4.5 Euros.  Average ride times were 5 - 7 minutes of thrill!!  A new ride for the year of 2012 was the "Transformer"!!  Riding it brings out all of your senses with smoke screens, light shows and body movements created by a ride that spins you, flips you and gives you several "g's" throughout the ride.  Some of my other favorite rides this year were the Frisbee, DOM Dancer, the Shaker and the Take OFF Air Ride.

The food and beer are great as well.  Nothing is quite as refreshing as a Hefeweizen or a good ol' German Pils.  Everywhere you look there is another outdoor bar to enjoy your favorite.  Also there are a great selection of German Wurst from Brats to Bock and my favorite Nackensteak im Brotchen (Pork Steak in brown bread).  Also there are a selection of other foods like Grilled Corn on the Cob, Bratkartoffen (Pan Fried Potatoes with pieces of pork), Fried Brussel Sprouts among other fried vegetables and Mushroom in Cream Sauce.  No fair would be complete without it's fair share of sugary treats with pastries galore, crepes, and a candy selection like you have never seen before.
